Post-election Analysis - Tax Policy in the 117th Congress

CEPC's presenter, David Kemps with Morgan Stanley's Government Relations, will discuss what tax policy will look like in the 117th Congress and in a Biden Administration. He will also present how the Senate runoff election in Georgia, for that state’s two Senate seats, will impact tax policy in the next Congress. 

This event will be held virtually (via Zoom) and is free for members; $45 for non-members. Please note: CEPC will not be obtaining CEUs for this meeting. Attendees may self-submit where applicable.

About the Speaker

David W. Kemps, Executive Director, Morgan Stanley
David Kemps has more than 27 years of experience in the national policy and political arenas, with a substantive focus primarily on tax and retirement issues.  Mr. Kemps joined Morgan Stanley in May 2011 and is located in its Government Relations office in Washington, D.C.  Through his position, he advocates the company’s interests in tax and retirement issues before Congress and the Executive Branch.

Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Mr. Kemps spent over 15 years in various senior-level policy positions in Washington, D.C.  From 2004 through 2010, Mr. Kemps served as Vice President of Federal Relations for the Lincoln Financial Group.  While at Lincoln, he advocated the company’s interests before Congress and the Executive Branch on a wide range of issues, monitored legislative and regulatory actions with a focus on corporate and product taxation, retirement, and financial services, and directed the company’s political activities over the course of several election cycles.
