CEPC - COVID-19 Statement

Updated 3/20/2020

The Charlotte Estate Planning Council leadership has been closely monitoring the rapidly developing situation with the COVID-19 outbreak. The health and well-being of our members is our top priority, and we are taking the threat of this virus seriously. After continued monitoring of events and reviewing protocol of other similar organizations, we have decided the responsible course is to adopt social distancing protocol for CEPC’s activities through May. The specific steps we are taking:

Events and Programs
Upcoming scheduled events including the two listed below have been cancelled and we are working to reschedule these events to be part of the 2020-2021 calendar.

  • April 28, 2020  -  Protecting Humpty Dumpty, the Retirement Nest Egg – Recent Developments in Estate Planning for Retirement Assets – Robert K. Kirkland, Kirkland Woods & Martinsen, LLP.
  • May 13, 2020 – Annual Meeting – Reid Dunavant, Doyle Auctioneers & Appraisers

Small Group, Committee and Leadership Meetings
All committee and leadership meetings through the middle of April will be held via conference call or video conferencing.

What the CEPC Offices Are Doing to Manage Through This
We are paying close attention to the advancement of COVID-19. Taking the above steps in addition to monitoring the virus, placed signage reminding guests and staff about personal hygiene, keeping the recommended amount of distance between people, and our office staff is currently working remotely in an effort to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.

If you have questions, please reach out via email ([email protected]) or phone (704-940-7382). We are regularly checking all messages to respond to our members inquiries. Please stay safe, healthy, and follow the latest advisories from the CDC.

President's Letter

I am honored to be named the 2019-2020 President of the Charlotte Estate Planning Council and to be working with a great board in planning out this year’s calendar of events.  As a board, we have striven to listen to your suggestions and to be creative and thoughtful in searching for relevant speakers for your meetings.

We are excited to continue the efforts started last year of scheduling a dedicated networking event to be held at Lenny Boy Brewing Co. in November in addition to our meaningful luncheons and CEUs. As a member, you can stay informed easily with notifications sent directly to your inbox, check out the latest information on our website, www.charlotteepc.org, through our LinkedIn page, and also learn more through the National Association of Estate Planning Councils (NAEPC) regular webcast and educational events.

CEPC continues to progress because of the hard work of our officers and support from our members and sponsors. We welcome your ideas to improve our organization so we can continue to lead the way with our educational resources, sponsorship opportunities, and networking opportunities.

Registration to CEPC education events is now open to members and non-members.  If you are interested in becoming a member, sponsoring an event, speaking at an event or if you have questions about your membership, please contact our Member Services department at 704-940-7382 or via e-mail at [email protected].

Thank you to the Board, our membership, and our sponsors for your time and dedication to this outstanding organization.  We look forward to another successful year!
