Welcome to the Charlotte Estate Planning Council
MISSION STATEMENT:
The mission of the Council shall be to promote the interest of the public by providing an educational forum for estate planning
Letter from the President:
I look forward to serving as your President for the 2011-2012 fiscal year. I thank our immediate past President, Brett Sovine, for his leadership of the Council last year. I also extend thanks to our Board, as well as Emily Crespo and her firm TH Mgmt, Inc., for their coordination of our activities.
We have several new changes this year that we hope will make the membership more attractive to our members and prospective members. We appreciate the members’ responses to our survey and we listened!!
First, we are going to have three Tuesday meetings to address issues that certain members have with Monday meetings. We are also going to have a Tuesday lunch meeting in January to accommodate those who have issues with attendance at evening meetings. We are also going to offer CLE/CPE/CLU credit when possible. When qualifying meetings for credit, we will not offer cocktails in order to meet those requirements; however, we will still have the networking time prior to the dinner/lunch/ speaker. The September meeting will offer the cocktail networking time because we were too late to qualify the September meeting for CLE. CPAs can still self-submit so we do not believe it will be an issue for CPAs. We have a great line up of speakers this year and hope that you will be pleased and interested in attending. Also please note that we have switched locations. We will now be meeting at the Marriott Center City for both cost and convenience. Please see the schedule below.
An additional benefit we will offer is the switch to credit card processing on-line to allow you to pay when you sign up for the meetings. This will be available for the October meeting and all additional meetings. However, you will be able to pay for the September meeting with your credit card.
The Board members who will be serving on the Council's Board this year are:
