Join us for an insider’s perspective from attorney Tom Myrick of Moore & Van Allen, on the background, key issues and facts of the Kimberley Rice Kaestner Trust and decisions of the North Carolina courts and the U.S. Supreme Court. Tom will discuss his history with the case and his view of the specific facts of the case that led to the courts’ rulings in favor of the taxpayer in challenging the constitutionality of the North Carolina statute defining “resident” trust. Approved for 1 hour CE credit.

About Our Speaker

Tom Myrick
Moore & Van Allen 
Tom Myrick has a wide range of civil trial experience, including frequent appearances in both state and federal trial and appellate courts, with particular experience in business related litigation. He has been first chair trial counsel through verdict in dozens of civil jury trials, including trials that lasted up to four months. His practice has recently been focused on handling significant commercial cases involving sophisticated damage theories. Myrick also counsels clients engaged in complex business combinations on methods to minimize their exposure to litigation. Read more.
