CEPC's luncheon at the Charlotte City Club will host Tanya Marsh with Wake Forest presenting Planning for Funerals & Disposition in North Carolina. This unique presentation will discuss the laws applicable to planning funerals and the final disposition of human remains in North Carolina. New developments in the law and new methods of disposition and cultural trends will also be addressed.

Tanya D. Marsh is Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Professor of Law at Wake Forest University where she teaches courses in Property, Estates and Trusts, and the only course in a U.S. law school on Funeral and Cemetery Law. Her scholarship is focused on laws regarding the status, treatment, and disposition of human remains. She is the author of The Law of Human Remains (2015) and co-author of Cemetery Law: The Common Law of Burying Grounds in the United States (2015).
